I am such a Spring and Summer lover because of the beautiful growth of plants and flowers springing up from the ground. I call it “God’s surprise party” because you may have an idea of when things should bloom but only God knows for sure. This time of the year brings me immense joy. I love gardening because of my delight in flowers. As a result of being a flower addict, our property has become quite the pollinator's paradise and we have bees everywhere! All these honeybees have my husband, Jay and I thinking about possibly becoming Beekeepers so, we have been studying all about it. I have found great lessons from honeybees that apply to our Circle 555 ministry.

Honeybees, by instinct, spend their life pollinating, gathering nectar, and condensing it into honey. It is estimated that to produce just one pound of honey, the average hive of 20,000 to 60,000 bees must collectively visit millions of flowers and travel twice around the world. Over its short lifetime of just a few weeks to four months, a single bee’s contribution of honey to its hive is a mere one-twelfth of a teaspoon. Yet, that small contribution is vital to the honeybee hive as the bees rely on each other.

Another interesting fact about life inside the beehive is that the queen bee is not the only female in the hive. The beehive is filled with female bees, but they are worker bees. They do not reproduce or have young. Instead, their lives are spent serving as nurse bees to the young produced by the queen.

Lastly, I learned that bees come in different shapes and sizes. God created bees in different ways because they work the flowers from different angles to gather more pollen. The more pollen gathered, the more fruits borne. For example, a typical apple tree depends on dozens of bee species to be fully pollinated and bear the best crop.

The lesson of the bees is profound: when many people each do something small, they accomplish something large and sweet together. Also, God uses all kinds of people in a ministry to bear greater fruit. We belong to Christ, and He inspires us to work together as a team to bear fruit for His glory. And He is so worthy of all we can offer Him for He has blessed us so richly!

No one person or organization can care for all of the needs and concerns of a community physically or financially. Yet, that is the beauty of Circle 555. We get to collectively pool our treasures and come alongside ministries to make an impact. What we need is your support, prayer, and donations to continue in the best way. The ministries we support not only provide a vital service to our community but also share the lifesaving hope of having a personal relationship with the God of the Universe! And that is great news!
